Saturday Strippers

Friendship, quilting and fun!

Saturday Strippers meets on the fourth Saturday of each month.

This group of quilting friends have been sewing together for many years. The Saturday Strippers do a lot of block exchanges and challenges. For example, the Spring 2020 exchange was a ‘building” block exchange. Each member made 16 blocks featuring a house, barn, church, school, or other building.  The blocks could be any size or technique, then exchanged with other group members in June of that year. The second part of the challenge was putting the different-sized blocks into a quilt.

Past exchanges include randomly picking blocks out of the 501 Quilt Blocks book, basket block exchange, ugly fabric exchange, making a small quilt from the ugly fabrics, batik block exchange, and many more. The Saturday Strippers also do quarterly UFO challenges and secret sister exchanges.

As a group, they support Quilts of Valor, make items for the OPQG Show Boutique and Quilter’s Bazaar events, manage the monthly mini and sponsor a winner’s category in the OPQG Show.

Members teach the group new techniques and pass along tips and tricks. During retreats, people learn how to make purses and boutique items or sew on their own projects. Contact Jackie Edelhuber for more information.
