Saturday Strippers

Friendship, quilting and fun!

Saturday Strippers meets the fourth Saturday of each month.

Saturday Strippers do a lot of block exchanges and challenges, and for this reason, they have closed the group to new members. The Spring 2020 exchange was a ‘building” block exchange. Each member must make 16 blocks with either a house, barn, church, school, etc.  The blocks can be any size, any technique then the blocks were exchanged in June of that year. The second part of the challenge is putting the different size blocks into a quilt.

Past exchanges include randomly picking blocks out of the 501 Quilt Blocks book, basket block exchange, ugly fabric exchange and then making a small quilt from the ugly fabrics, batik block exchange, and many more. The Saturday Strippers also does quarterly UFO challenges and secret sister exchanges.

As a group, they support Quilts of Valor, make items for the OPQG Show Boutique and Quilter’s Bazaar events, manage the monthly mini and sponsor the Best of Show category in the OPQG quilt show.

Members teach the group new techniques and pass along tips and tricks. During retreats, people have learned how to make a purse, boutique items or sew on their own projects. Contact Jackie Edelhuber for more information.
