Programs for 2nd Qtr 2025

April: Sandy Gard was our September NACQJ Quilt Judge for the OPQG Quilt Show. She will be joining us on April 22nd to give two lectures! The morning lecture will be Why Do We Create? and the evening lecture will be What the Judge Sees.  This is a unique opportunity to hear Sandy speak about her experiences in two different ways! Sandy will also host a workshop on April 23rd: Grand Finale—Happy Bindings. She will teach Piped Binding, Faced Binding, Scalloped Edges, Two-Sided Binding, and Beaded Binding! The kit cost for the workshop is $40 per person. Participants are encouraged to bring a UFO to finish with binding at the class.

May: You won’t want to miss our May 27 speaker Robbi Triplet, owner of The Fabric Merchant in Joplin, MO. Robbi has partnered with several Australian companies to bring vibrant, authentic Aboriginal fabrics to the U.S. These stunning prints—created by Aboriginal artists and rich in cultural storytelling—add a playful, modern twist to any quilt. Robbi will share her passion for these unique textiles and show us fun, creative ways to incorporate them into our own quilting projects. You won’t want to miss this colorful and inspiring presentation!
There will not be a spoeaker-led workshop in May.
