Youth Sewing Workshop June 12th at the OPQG Show

Calling all young makers! Join our Youth Ambassador Friday, June 12, 2026 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm as she leads a fun, hands-on beginner sewing workshop for youth ages 7–17 who have a working knowledge of sewing on a machine.

Students will create their very own Friday Night Tote—a stylish, sturdy bag. Along the way, participants will practice essential sewing skills in a supportive, step-by-step environment. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a finished tote you made yourself!

New Brother sewing machines are generously provided in the classroom at the show by Shawn’s Sewing Center. Twelve machines will be available. Six additional seats will be available for people who bring their own sewing machine.

Each participant will need to bring the following to the workshop:

– (1) Pair Fabric Scissors
– (1) Seam Ripper (just in case)
– (2-3) Needles (for hand sewing)

Early Bird Workshop Fee $27 (Early Bird pricing January 1 to March 31, 2026). The fee is $30 beginning on April 1st.
Early Bird Admission Opportunity — add a single-day admission fee to any lecture or workshop for $10 (saves $2) through May 31, 2026.
Kit Fee $26 — payable directly to Lorelai by cash or check on the day of the event.
