July 27 and 28- Star Struck Program presented by guild members
Topic—History of star blocks accompanied by a member trunk show of quilts with stars, all varieties and in all sizes. All guild members are encouraged to bring their star quilts to create a great show. Please contact Mary Loker mloker@ozarkpiecemakers.com to let her know how many star quilts you’ll be bringing.
Workshop—Wednesday, July 28 beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing into the early evening. This afternoon workshop will focus on beginning quilting skills including cutting, piecing and pressing (CPP) as well as knowledge of basic quilting units including squares, half-square triangles (HST) and flying geese. While this preliminary workshop will focus on preparation for the creation of a star quilt, more experienced quilters are encouraged to attend for a fun time of meeting and enjoying time together as they prepare their own quilt creations. Contact Mary at mloker@ozarkspiecemakers.com for additional information and to reserve your spot.
An educational workshop will be held all day on August 4th to create a Coast Guard star wall hanging with the option of “tweaking the pattern” for the more confident and or adventurous quilter. Sign up for the August workshop with Wanda Coffelt or Yevonne Shafer, education co-chairs. Members pay a fee of $10 to hold their spot which is fully refunded on the day of the workshop. If spaces are available, non-members may attend for a fee of $20.
