A Journey in Quilt History

Lecture with Julie Mooberry
June 12th • 9:30–10:30 am

Step back in time and explore the rich, fascinating story of quilting in this engaging lecture with Julie Mooberry. From its earliest beginnings as a practical necessity to its evolution into a cherished art form, quilting has long reflected the cultures, communities, and creativity of the people who made it.

During this presentation, Julie will guide attendees through centuries of quilt history, highlighting iconic patterns, techniques, and materials that have shaped quilting traditions around the world. Along the way, you’ll uncover the powerful stories quilts tell—stories of resourcefulness, family, heritage, and artistic expression.

Whether you’re an experienced quilter, a history lover, or simply curious about the textile arts, this lecture offers a deeper appreciation for quilting’s enduring legacy and its place in both everyday life and cultural history.
