Community Outreach

Many guild members participate in various small groups which work to provide quilts for charitable organizations in our community and surrounding areas.  Community Quilts is our most popular small group. Members work to provide quilts of various sizes to organizations such as Ambassadors for Children, Crosslines, and Ronald McDonald house along with several others.  This productive group also provides comfort quilts, known as “Squad Car Quilts” to local police departments in Springfield, Nixa, Ozark and other communities in our area.  The baby quilt section of Community Quilts provides over 400 small quilts per year to the Newborns in Need organization. The hardworking members of the Patriotic Piecemakers create and award Quilts of Valor to veterans in our area.  This group has presentations at the guild several times a year, awarding quilts to approximately 20 veterans at each presentation.  The group will also do private presentations and special presentations depending on circumstances.
